Five people left comments, and some of them were pretty bummed about the lack of vegetarian options on the menu. We felt like the ticket purchase form wasn’t the best place for this conversation, so we’ve moved that conversation here.

Lame, the change means it’s not veg so I will have to break tradition and skip it. Tell me how the beer is! Also, gingerbread panna cotta sounds awesome.

I was thinking the same thing. Not veggie this year? Lame. I was wondering just last week when tickets were going on sale.

Did y’all ask if was possible to get vegetarian options? The Roosevelt has been good about that for friends of mine.

I’m personally very excited about getting to taste Lee Gregory going German for a night.

  4. I agree with John M. Don’t assume that there’s no vegetarian option. Make a phone call before posting complaints in a public forum.

The thing that I liked about the RVANews Beer Dinner was that it was ONLY vegetarian food. It made it somewhat special to eat that way for an evening and see how creative the folks at Ipanema could be. This beer dinner is just like any other beer dinner in town, albeit hosted at one of my favorite restaurants. I’m sure there were zero people at last year’s dinner who asked for meat with their Welsh Rarebit.

An all Veg beer dinner is rare, and it is the kind of thing I’m sure Bryan and Lindsey (would) look forward to each year.

Also It’s hard to get the menu and pairings straight AND offer veg options. It looks like an awful lot of planning went into the event, as it has for the last two years.

There’s no reason to call the restaurant and brow-beat the chef into offering a vegetarian option for 3 out of 4 dishes. It is a planned menu event, so if there were options they likly would have been noted. It’s different than say, chiding a restaurant for refusal to serve any veg options during regular service.

Also (#2) public forums are for expressing opinions, like I just have.

  6. I eat mostly vegetarian but I’m willing to eat humanely raised meat. I’m guessing that this is conventional meat, since it’s not specified? I think that counts me out. Disappointing because that trout dish looks so good…

Looks Great! Will the $45 include tax and gratuity?

  8. @Sadler, Yep!

  9. What time does the dinner start?

  10. 6:00pm!
