Lobs & Lessons Family Open

The Mary and Frances Youth Center will host its second annual Lobs & Lessons Family Open event on Saturday, September 22nd on the VCU campus. This QuickStart Tennis tournament is fun for the whole family and includes breakfast, t-shirts, prizes, Q94 Radio and more! All proceeds directly benefit the Lobs & Lessons program, which supports under-served youth in the Richmond community.

Carytown Farmer’s Market

Every Sunday at 3300 West Cary Street in the Carytown Cleaners parking lot. The Carytown Farmers Market, a small scale producer only market, was created to give local farmers, producers of goods, and consumers the opportunity to deal directly with each other, rather than through third parties.

Ghost Light Party

The Ghost Light Party is a monthly open-mic piano bar event inspired by the cabaret scene of Manhattan’s West Village. Hosted by Matt Shofner and Maggie Roop at Richmond Triangle Players Theater (1300 Altamont Ave.) with special guests, raffle prizes, cocktail specials and more. All are invited to come and perform their favorite song with live piano accompaniment or just grab a drink, sit back and enjoy the show. Tickets are $5 and doors open at 8. City Council Formal Meeting

Every 2nd and 4th Mon – Responsible for deciding official Council action, which includes discussing, adopting, rejecting, and amending laws and approving the budget. Formal meetings include a time for pubic comment and are televised live on the local PBS station and are replayed in Richmond on Government Access Channel 17, beginning at Noon and 7:00 p.m. daily.

* Dominion presentation on power restoration services and power outage prevention
* Chief David McCoy, University of Richmond Police, will discuss off campus housing of U of R students and how they interface with the off campus students.
