During the past year, the Valentine underwent a major renovation of their gallery space. Their new gallery space will allow the museum to focus on telling Richmond’s story. A new exhibition, “This is Richmond, Virginia,” tells the history of the city of Richmond using photographs, textiles and decorative arts from the museums 1.6 million object collection.
Recently, the museum also unveiled their new identity. No longer the Valentine Richmond History Center, the museum is now simply The Valentine. Along with the new identity is a new sleek logo resembling a red photo corner.
