Wearing the hat of a food critic, Richmond Times-Dispatch music critic Melissa Ruggieri writes about her lunch on W. Grace St., in a location perhaps more familiar to rock ‘n’ roll aficionados than ladies who lunch.

The one that, in the’70s, started the tradition of music blaring from that spot when it was the Back Door, then turned into punk rock club Twisters and most recently, hosted scads of punk bands as the amusingly named Nanci Raygun?

It’s now a bagel restaurant.

Seriously. A pretty good one, too — and this is coming from a self-professed bagel snob.

The independently run Bagel Czar has been open only a few weeks…
