1st District School Board representative Glen Sturtevant wants feedback on the selection of the next RPS Superintendent:

We have an exciting opportunity to make Richmond Public Schools a national leader in education reform. The selection of the next Superintendent of Richmond Public Schools must be an open and transparent process that brings the best and brightest administrator to Richmond to assist the School Board as a change agent in turning around our school system.

I’d like to see a well rounded search committee that includes parent and teacher representatives. I plan on holding town halls in my district to engage my constituents in the selection process. My hope is that the finalists for the position will participate in forums around the City to express their vision and answer questions about their priorities and goals for turning around Richmond Public Schools.

Please let me know what your priorities are in the selection of the next RPS Superintendent.
