Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens continues its summer schedule of evening activities in August with Families After Five every Tuesday evening and Flowers After Five every Thursday evening. (Regular admission applies.) And don’t forget that the second Thursday of the month — Thursday, August 14 — is Fidos After 5 and the garden is open to leashed dogs and their human pets.

On Tuesdays, the Garden is open until 9:00 with an emphasis on the Children’s Garden and WaterPlay area. Food is available for purchase from 5:00 until 7:00pm in the Children’s Garden and WaterPlay operates until 8:30pm.

On Thursdays, the Garden is open until 9:00 with wine-tastings, live jazz and dining. The schedule for wines and performers is as follows:

  • Tuesday, August 7: It’s beach night with soft and easy wines, and the music of Alan Parker (guitar), Matt Hall (bass), and Billy Williams (drums)
  • Tuesday, August 14: Enjoy Sauvignon Blanc wines paired with the music of Alex Powers (trombone), Josh Gramling (guitar), and David Ashby (bass)
  • Tuesday, August 21: Sip light and fruity wines from Germany and enjoy the music of Josh Gramling (guitar), Brian Cruse (bass), and Sam Sherman (drums)
  • Tuesday, August 28: Rose’ wines from around the world with jazz performed by Jon Gibson (sax), Karl Morse (guitar), and Colin Greggs (guitar)
