Saturday, May 3, is Solar Day. At noon and 2 p.m. use a small solar panel to make a fan turn. Tour the Virginia Tech Solar House at 1 and 3 p.m. While you’re at the museum, explore technologies used in surgeries in the visiting exhibit Zap! Surgery Beyond the Cutting Edge. See the giant screen film Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk in the Ethyl IMAX®DOME. Ride wild Colorado River rapids — without getting wet.

Saturday, May, 10 is National Astronomy Day. Discover how to identify summer stars and constellations at noon and 2 p.m. Look directly at the sun through safe telescopes at 1 and 3 p.m. — weather permitting. While you’re at the museum, explore technologies used in surgeries in the visiting exhibit Zap! Surgery Beyond the Cutting Edge. See the giant screen film Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk in the Ethyl IMAX®DOME. Ride wild Colorado River rapids — without getting wet.

Saturday, May 17, is Medicine Day. Take your blood pressure at noon and 2 p.m. Identify bones on X-rays at 1 and 3 p.m. While you’re at the museum, see the giant screen film Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk in the Ethyl IMAX®DOME. Ride wild Colorado River rapids — without getting wet.

Saturday, May 24, is Physics Day. At noon and 2 p.m. see a ping pong ball float on air. At 1 and 3 p.m. race a paper ball and a flat piece of paper. While you’re at the museum, see the giant screen film Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk in the Ethyl IMAX®DOME. Ride wild Colorado River rapids — without getting wet.

Saturday, May 31, is Catch a Ride Day. At noon and 2 p.m. ride a historic streetcar — weather permitting. At 1 and 3 p.m. learn how to ride a Segway. While you’re at the museum, see the giant screen film Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk in the Ethyl IMAX®DOME. Ride wild Colorado River rapids — without getting wet.

Science Saturdays and Zap! Surgery Beyond the Cutting Edge are included with exhibit admission. Tickets are $9 for youth ages 4-12, seniors 60+ and active military and $10 adults ages 13-59. Tickets to see the giant screen film Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk and visit Science Saturdays, Zap! Surgery Beyond the Cutting Edge and museum exhibits are $16.50 for youth ages 4-12, seniors 60+ and active military, and $17.50 for adults.
