Cliff Davis of Petersburg City Public Schools has forwarded information on two scholarship opportunities:
1) Crater Chapter of the US Warrant Officer Association Scholarship Program – for military connected youth
2) Southside Virginia Chapter of Military Officer’s Association of America, Roper Memorial Scholarships – for students from schools in the Ft. Lee and Southside Virginia areas

1) Crater Chapter of the US Warrant Officer Association Scholarship Program – for military connected youth

The goal of the Crater Chapter of the United States Army Warrant Officer Association scholarship program is to award two $1,000 financial awards to the most deserving candidates based on the whole-person concept.

Application packets may be obtained by visiting our website at www.geocities.com/craterusawoa and must be returned between January 1 and April 1, 2009.

Completed packets should be mailed to: Warrant Officer Association – Crater Chapter, PO Box 5032, Fort Lee, VA 23801-1601.

Applicants may be the children (natural and adopted) and dependent step-children, under the age of 23 (seniors in High School or above), or spouses of individuals employed on Fort Lee and living in the tri-cities area of Virginia.

All applicants must plan to attend or continue their education, at an accredited and degree (or certificate) granting American college/university or vocational/technical institution on a full time basis and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale).
