This Saturday the Ellwood’s Community Classroom is hosting the RVA Guide to Raising Chickens. You can gain all the kernels of knowledge you need to become King of the Coop, Regent of the Rhode Island Reds, Lord of Leghorns, Purveyor of Plymouth Rocks, or Chieftain of Cluck.
The class is being taught by Ellwood Thompsons’ Produce Educator, Heather DeMascio.

- The different varieties of chickens
- Chickens vs. Pullets vs. Hens
- Feed and Water
- Size of coops
- Free range vs. chicken runs
- And most importantly: How to keep your chickens alive
