Sponsored by the James River Film Society and the Sierra Club Falls of the James Group, the RVA Environmental Film Festival will be February 4-5, 2012, at the Byrd Theatre. Harry Shearer’s The Big Uneasy and Skip Elsheimer’s The Last Time We Were Green are the first two films announced; more will be forthcoming.

Harry Shearer’s “The Big Uneasy”. The first documentary by longtime “mockumentarian” Harry Shearer, “The Big Uneasy” follows three remarkable people—the leaders of two scientific investigative teams and one whistleblower—as they reveal the true story of why New Orleans flooded, and why it could happen in your town, too. Filmmaker, actor, and comic personality Harry Shearer may make a special live appearance via Skype. Stay tuned!

Skip Elsheimer of A/V Geeks, “The Last Time We Were Green”. This 90-minute program of vintage educational films offers a fun and corny look back at the green movement of the early 1970s. Groovy!
