RPD Community Walk in the Fan tonight

After recent events in the neighborhood, the RPD wants to reach out to the community to address crime, environmental issues and engage the neighborhood to build a strong collaborative relationship.

WHAT: Richmond Police Department Community Walk
WHEN: 5:30 p.m. today, August 25, 20115
WHERE: 1900 block of West Cary Street

BACKGROUND: The RPD Command Staff will lead a walk this evening along West Cary Street in the Fan District. During the walk the officers will speak with members of the community about safety concerns they may have and what they’d like to see more of from the Richmond Police Department.

After recent events in the neighborhood, the RPD wants to reach out to the community to address crime, environmental issues and engage the neighborhood to build a strong collaborative relationship.

This event is the latest in a series of walks conducted on a monthly basis by the Richmond Police Department in neighborhoods throughout the city.

Members of the media are encouraged to attend.
