Today Mayor L. Douglas Wilder issued the following statement on Reynolds Plant closing along the Canal Walk:
“The Reynolds name carries a long and distinguished history in Richmond, and we regret that the company is choosing to relocate and with it, the loss of jobs,” the Mayor said.
“We are optimistic, however, that this move now allows for the redevelopment of this vital link along our Canal Walk and brings many benefits and opportunities for Downtown and the entire City.”
