Report of armed man puts Albert Hill on lockdown

At approximately 8:13 AM today, Richmond Police received a report of an armed man near Albert Hill Middle School. This report was unfounded.

At approximately 8:13 a.m. today, Richmond Police received a call from a citizen that there was an armed man near the intersection of Thompson and West Broad streets.

Officers arrived within a minute, investigated and found the complaint unfounded.

At approximately 11 a.m., the Department’s Division of Emergency Communications Center began receiving numerous calls from concerned citizens about an alleged armed person near Albert Hill Middle School at 3400 Patterson Ave.

Officers responded to the school and quickly discovered the calls were in relation to the earlier unfounded complaint, and not a separate incident.
