From Gloria Brown: Dear Voices of Petersburg, This is a year of change and you have begun the process! We are now ready to move forward in the process and transition of petitioning for a Strong Mayor Elect Government in Petersburg, Virginia. We will have monthly strategic and reporting meetings. They will be only once per month and limited to one hour. Our work is in the streets getting signatures and spreading the message of inclusion and democracy. We all know the issues and challenges of our city, so we need to resolve them with viable solutions of having our voices counted.
**Those that were given petitions please have a goal of having them completed and ready to hand-in on the meeting date. The petitions are only 10 spaces if you get 5 neighbors on right and on your left, your family members in the city, co-workers etc. Each person attending the meeting will have the opportunity to obtain petitions. You can also request to have them emailed to you.
We will able to reach our goal by August. We need you and the time is now! Bring one person with you who can get 10 signatures in 30 days. That is only 2 signatures a week!
The first meeting in a series will be held on Wednesday January 28th, 2009 at 6:30 pm at Bland Funeral Home Community room on Harrison Street.
