Public meeting to discuss future of Westhampton Theatre slated for Wednesday evening
The community is invited to give input on developers’ plans and help shape future development of the property.

As we reported earlier this year, the Westhampton Theatre in the Libbie and Grove area was purchased by a group who plans to redevelop the building. The bad news is you have just a short time left to catch a movie at the theatre (check showtimes here). The good news is the property owners are interested in having an active discussion with the surrounding community on what neighbors would like to see the property become.
That discussion begins tomorrow evening, December 2nd, with a meeting at the St. Christopher’s Middle School auditorium at 7:00 PM.
First District Richmond District City Councilman Jon Baliles will be in attendance.
“The team plans to discuss their ideas for the property and get community feedback and ideas before proceeding with the necessary paperwork and engagement with the City to begin the development process,” Baliles said to constituents in a recent email newsletter.
The meeting is open to the general public and no RSVP is required. Anyone with questions is asked to contact Jason Guillot with Thalhimer Commercial Realty.
We’ll follow up on this story with more details concerning the developers’ plans as they become available.
