Police officer shot in Fulton
The officer was shot in the stomach and grazed in the head.
Various news sources are reporting a police officer and suspect involved in a shooting that took place around 2:30 PM today.
The following is from NBC12.
A call came in at 2:30 p.m. to a residence in 4400 block of Fulton Street near Old Denny Street. The officer was responding to a call for an emotional crisis. The situation escalated quickly. Shots were fired by the suspect first. The officer then returned fire. Both were injured. A witness says she heard at least three shots. There is a large police presence is in that area.
The officer and the suspect have been taken to VCU Medical Center. Sources say the police officer is expected to be okay. He is a veteran of the force.
