During Monday’s meeting of the Richmond Planning Commission, members heard details on the proposed roundabout at the intersection of Laburnum and Hermitage avenues; the roundabout would replace the current system of traffic signals at the intersection. According to Brooke Hardin with the city’s Department of Community Development, the commission chose to continue the roundabout item until their next meeting on Monday, July 7:

The Planning Commission voted to continue the AP Hill Roundabout item until 7/7/08. The commission requested that the Traffic Engineering Division do the following prior to bringing the project back for consideration: 1) provide additional information on the safety of two-lane roundabouts and 2) solicit feedback on the project from representatives of the School Board, Police Department, Holton Elementary, and Holton PTA.
