At just under 50 acres, Glen Allen’s newest park features a ‘spray ground’ water park, trails and soccer fields.

Henrico Parks & Recreation is hosting a grand opening celebration tomorrow for Henrico County’s newest park. Twin Hickory Park, located next to Deep Run High School within the Twin Hickory planned community, has been under construction since 2012.

The 48.5 acre site was purchased and turned into a park with $3 million in funds from a 2005 voter-approved bond referendum.1

The neighborhood park features two multipurpose sports fields, two age-specific playgrounds for younger and older children, a picnic shelter, and a number of wooded trails.

Perhaps the most unique feature of Twin Hickory Park is the county’s first ‘spray ground,’ billed as a playground with a number of spray-based water features for kids to cool off under in the spring and summer months.

The official ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony takes place Saturday, July 12th from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The public is welcomed to attend and take part in the event. A number of family events are planned.
