2) Dinwiddie, Petersburg and Prince George Republicans to welcome Virginia Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling on August 14

Republicans from Dinwiddie, Petersburg and Prince George will welcome Virginia’s Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling for an Afternoon for Families and Friends on Thursday, August 14 at the Battlefield Park Swim & Racquet Club, 3108 Homestead Drive in Petersburg.  Registration, swimming and tennis will begin at 3 p.m., and the barbeque social will start at 5 p.m.

Susan McCammon, Chairman of the Dinwiddie GOP unit said, “Our three units will celebrate the doubling of our memberships as part of the Attorney General – Lieutenant Governor – Republican Party of Virginia Challenge launched last spring.”

“We’re especially pleased to welcome Virginia’s great Lieutenant Governor, Bill Bolling, to our event,” stated Prince George GOP Chairman Dan Robinson.   “There will be plenty of time for guests to meet with the Lieutenant Governor about both current issues facing the Commonwealth, and plans and projections for all of the major 2008 campaigns, including those of Sen. McCain for President, Gov. Jim Gilmore for U.S. Senate and the re-election of our Congressman, Randy Forbes.”   Representatives and materials from these campaigns will also be at the event.

The participation fee is only $10 per person for members of the three units, children and guests.  Persons wishing to join any of the three units will also be able to pay their annual dues at the event.

“This will be a fun, old time southern Virginia summer social,” explained Linas Kojelis, Chairman of the Petersburg Republicans.  “The park has wonderful swimming pools and tennis courts and is surrounded by trees and beautiful landscaping.  The picnic will take place rain or shine, as the park has a large pavilion where we’ll be gathering.  So we hope all Republicans from Chesterfield, Colonial Heights, Hopewell as well as our three localities will join us.”

Battlefield Park is located in Petersburg off of Johnson Road near the high school.  Turn into the entrance to Dogwood Trace golf course and follow the signs directly ahead.
