Patti Labelle To Perform At The Chesterfield County Black History Month Kickoff Concert

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Patti LaBelle will be the featured performer at the 19th annual Chesterfield County Black History Month kickoff concert, Friday, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m. at Daniel Gymnasium at Virginia State University. LaBelle is a world-class entertainer and humanitarian committed to issues ranging from foster care and adoption to diabetes. The opening act will feature comedian Antoine Scott. This concert is free and open to the public. There are no tickets, and seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors will open at 5 p.m. On Saturday, Feb. 14, Chesterfield County will hold the annual Arts, Education and Entertainment Family Festival in the Hecht’s Building at Cloverleaf Mall, noon-6 p.m. National recording artist Darwin Hobbs will be performing, as well as entertainers Touch of Charm, magicians Daisy Maisy and Freshiee, storyteller Diane Macklin and others. Children’s entertainment will include face painting, a moonwalk and a Dance Dance Revolution competition. Over 100 vendors will offer crafts and information in the Marketplace.
