Oscar season begins!

Who loves contests? EVERYONE. Get yourselves ready for the biggest hugest Oscar contest of your life. Kindly sponsored by as yet unnamed sponsor.

Other than Susan, who loves the Academy Awards? I thought I’d provide you a handy list of the award categories and nominees, you’re going to need them. For what you ask? FOR THE RVANews OSCAR POOL! DJUN! Last year Justin, the Wife, Suze, and I had a sweet Oscar competition which resulted in delicious cupcakes. I’m not how sure the prize became “Susan makes everyone cupcakes,” but I’m certainly glad it did. I’d also like to point out that Happy Feet did indeed win Best Animated.

This year we are opening up the contest to you cretins.

It will work thusly: each category will be given a point value, the Big Categories will be worth more than the Small Categories. Everyone will fill out a ballot. The winner will be showered with prizes from our future sponsor (Westhampton, I’m looking at you).

So, express your immense interest in the comments and stay tuned for information. Let the battle begin, the power is yours!

  1. hahahah cretins

  2. I could be convinced to make Oscar cupcakes again. What if Susan’s Fictional Bakeshop sponsored it.

  3. Dude, I am totally in. I am choosing Transformers to sweep every category, even ones it was not in! Are you going to create some survey of some kind? Last time, I recall people leaving their picks in the comments and it got messy and I got confused. But that’s up to you, because I am certainly too lazy to create something like that.

  4. Yeah it will be a secret ballot / survey. That way people won’t influence each other.

  5. I would say “Don’t worry, people, I won’t be competing, so you’ll all have a better chance,” but then I can think of at least one person who will be very quick to let you know that I completely lost last year. I don’t think I was even close. Sigh.

  6. Incidentally, who do you think won the oscars pool last year? I did. You folks had better watch out this year.
