Well maybe it’s not the Near West End, but it’s close. Mechanicsville (#54) and Glen Allen (#66) getting voted as some of Money Magazine’s Best 100 Places to Live certainly is noteworthy. And Mechanicsville and Glen Allen share many of their attributes with the Near West End.
Then again, is being 100 miles from Washington, D.C. and 50 miles from Williamsburg really a reason to be chosen as a great place to live?
Surely in Richmond, they could have found something better to highlight! Money Magazine mentions the Civil War history almost as a footnote.
