On Saturday, February 2, beginning at 4:00 pm the North Richmond streets of Confederate and Gloucester avenues will be filled with Mardi Gras-style festivities. Here’s the scoop:

Decorate Your Car, Your Bike, Your Wagon, Your Pet and, yes, even your RIDING LAWN MOWER!

Prizes Will Be Awarded!

Participants: Arrive at 1503 Confederate Avenue between 3:30 & 3:45 pm to get in line!

Spectators: You’re welcome to join us anywhere along the parade route BUT we suggest you bring your lawn chair – or as we do in New Orleans – your ladder and gather on Gloucester between Confederate and Wilmington avenues on the median strip – or as we call it – the neutral ground. After the parade passes feel free to fall in behind and form a second line!

Residents: If you’re not going to join in the fun, then come out and greet us. As we ride down your street yell out “Hey Mister (or Baby), Throw Me Something”

Parade will start at 4:00 pm.

In the tradition of Mardi Gras we encourage participants to throw beads, candy and doubloons!

After the parade returns to Gloucester and Confederate join us for King Cake, Coffee and Hot Chocolate!

Parade Route: East on Confederate — U Turn — West on Confederate until Gloucester — Right on Gloucester – Right on Wilmington , East– U Turn — West on Wilmington until Hermitage – U Turn — East on Wilmington – Right on Chatham — Right on Confederate, West — U Turn — East on Confederate back to starting point.
