H&H Neighborhood Road Condition Crowdsourcing

The Richmond Snow Plowing Status Map is wonderful in theory. In reality it doesn’t seem to be accurate. I find it hard to believe that not a single route has been completed as shown above.

So let’s find out what’s going on out there and help each other out.

What streets do you know are plowed or treated? I can tell you that that my streets are still a mess and haven’t seen a plow or sand truck. That’s not entirely true a plow drove down our street but didn’t put his plow down so wasn’t very helpful.

In the comments tell us which roads are good to go and if you feel like it vent about the roads that are still snowed in.

  1. From Facebook: There is a car stuck on Riverside Dr ( since yesterday) in the curve at 4710-4800 Riverside Dr . Be aware

We did a lot of walking yesterday and none of the roads between forest hill and Midlothian from crossroads to Otooles other than forest hill and Roanoke have been plowed

  3. I don’t recommend coming into the neighborhood where Boroughbridge Rd begins at Jahnke and ends on Midlothian. All of this area has not been plowed and it’s not good.

Forest Hill Avenue looks good. Most one way streets in Westover Hills are snow covered and pretty slick. The North/South bound roads seem passable by 4-wheel drive vehicles.

  5. 48th from Forest Hill to Westover Hills was sanded morning when I went by @7:20.

I don’t know how other roads are, since I can’t get out of my Oxford neighborhood.

I live on Yeardley Dr, off of Westower Dr. I am not sure if you plan to plow but the snow is over 12 inches on my street and I cannot get out. No one has traveled my street enough to pack it down. I had to miss work today. I cannot miss more. Please help.

Traveled from Hull Street to Short Pump via 288 today. Everything was clear and dry, with the exception of getting out of my neighborhood. In 9 years, our neighborhood streets have never been plowed. WTF Chesterfield County?!?

My neighborhood behind the Stony Point shopping center is awful. My cul-de-sac never gets plowed but a trick came through Saturday while it was still snowing and did nothing. Way to go Mayor Jones

Just coming home after 6 pm tonight. Forest Hill is fine, but I saw a few cars stuck at the turn onto 46th ave. I shouldn’t have turned down 45th… I tried to get back out of the neighborhood and saw someone stuck at the roundabout at 47th and Reedy. I got my own car stuck (luckily toward the side of the road). Unless you have an all wheel drive I don’t advise coming down here at all. I’m even seeing some of the trucks going by are slipping all over the place. Ugh!

  11. I saw on the interactive map that Riverside Drive had been plowed – ha ha ha, not so much!

I don’t know what the city has done but if you’ve got plows working on 24 hour shifts there’s no excuse for residential roads to have not been plowed by now. Moved south from NJ and up there you’d never even have known it snowed with how quickly they gets plows out working. Plow & salt, rinse and repeat- it’ll get rid of the snow & keep the ice from accumulating. Really disappointed in the city!
