Neighborhood group announces new name, expanded boundaries

The Scott’s Addition Business Association is now known as the Scott’s Addition Boulevard Association.

Scott’s Addition is experiencing a tremendous renaissance and is widely considered the fastest growing neighborhood in the City of Richmond.

With this in mind, the Scott’s Addition Business Association announced Thursday it’s updated both its name and its boundaries to better reflect the neighborhood’s growth and change. The group is now known as the Scott’s Addition Boulevard Association.

Board members say the name and boundaries better reflect the composition of the group’s membership base and was unanimously approved by both new and founding board members of the organization.

Though the name has changed, the mission of SABA remains the same; “to provide a forum for businesses, property owners and residents of the neighborhood and surrounding area to address community issues; protect the integrity of our neighborhood’s historic designation; preserve the neighborhood’s economy; and enhance the vitality of the community,” according to governing documents.

As one of the City’s largest remaining contiguous light industrial zoned areas, Scott’s Addition is home to scores of businesses and numerous new craft industries alike, not to mention hundreds of residents.

SABA also redesigned its website, and rolled out a new logo to coincide with the changes.
