In conjunction with the 25th annual National Night Out against crime, the Harding Area Neighborhood Association will host it’s NNO activities on the corner of Harding and New Streets Tuesday, August 5, 2008 beginning at 6:00pm.

What is NNO?

Adapted from the NNO “About” webpage:

National Night Out is a unique crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW), that involves citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations, and local officials from over 10,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide.

National Night Out is designed to:
• Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
• Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs;
• Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
• Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
• Get to know who makes up the neighborhood.

There will out of town as well as local entertainment, food, fun, and fellowship.
