Modern Artifacts announces closure, hosting liquidation sale

The eclectic boutique shop in Carytown will close at the end of May, owners announced Tuesday.

An art and eclectic home goods boutique in Carytown is hanging it up. Modern Artifacts owners Bill and Sharon Montgomery announced the closure to customers in an email Tuesday evening:

endisnearWe thought this banner seen last Saturday during the Monument Avenue 10k was an appropriate opening for this newsletter as we are closing modern artifacts in late May. Starting tomorrow (no Aprils Fool joke) everything is 30% off including our fixtures and well everything (except Zooey). Please stop by to say hello, or goodbye…

Cheers,
Bill & Sharon

As the two stated, everything in the store–from local artwork and photography to handmade jewelry and ceramics is currently 30% off regular prices.

Modern Artifacts was personally one of my favorite stores in Carytown with their abundance of local artwork and RVA-themed merchandise produced by skilled and quirky makers from around town. Be sure to stop in before the end of May for a good deal on some pretty cool stuff.
