Yesterday (January 14), a MDA resident was bitten by a youngish calico cat at 3123 Monument Avenue.
The cat was friendly and looked well cared for but had no collar. He was petting it when it turned and made a quick bite into his hand, which has become infected.
If anyone knows the owner of this cat, please let George Collier (contact info below) know if it has had its shots so he can avoid rabies treatment and so Animal Control will not need to be sent after the cat.
He needs to find out within the next day or so.
