Late tax return mailers only have one Richmond option

Tax Season.

The Richmond Main Post Office at 1801 Brook Road will be the only Richmond post office to stay open late on Wednesday, the last day to file your taxes. The offices will stay open until 8:00 PM for all you folks that like the thrill of cutting it close.

“Tax returns should be dropped in collection boxes outside the Main Post Office, handed to an employee or placed in the self-service kiosk drop box prior to 8 p.m. to ensure their returns get the April 15 postmark,” the U.S. Postal Service said in a statement.

The kiosk machines do not accept cash but take debit and credit cards.

Customers can check locations, hours of operations and last collection times by calling (800) ASK-USPS or by visiting www.usps.com.
