Kroger gets into the growler game at its Short Pump store

The grocer now offers eight local, regional, and national varieties of beer with which to fill your growlers.

Kroger is tapping into the popularity of growler fill concepts popping up in the area by adding some options of its own.

The Short Pump location now has eight craft beer taps featuring local, regional, and national favorites that will be rotated on an ongoing basis.

Growlers can be filled in two of the typical sizes; 32 and 64 ounce jugs.

Short Pump is the first Kroger location in the Richmond area to get the taps, but management says others will follow based on the enthusiastic response in other markets.

It’s worth noting Whole Foods Market and Ellwood Thompson’s have offered growler service for some time, but Kroger looks to be taking the concept mainstream based on its expansion plans.
