Williams is a frequent commentator and analyst of American political, racial and cultural issues in Newsweek, Fortune, The New Republic, Ebony and Gentlemen’s Quarterly. His six books include “Thurgood Marshall: American Revolutionary,” and he won a 1989 Emmy award for documentary writing. He previously worked 21 years as an editorial writer, columnist and White House reporter with The Washington Post.
