This email came in today from, Kevin O’Holleran, campaign manager for Dwight Jones:

I just saw your post about the RVABlogs. Just to clear up any confusion, this was not done purposefully by our campaign. You may have noticed that we made some redesign changes to our website that was switched over at about 9:20 pm on Wednesday night. I’m not by any means an expert when it comes to websites, but what I believed happened was when we switched it reposted all of our previous posts backdated through May through our RSS feed.

Again, this was an unintentional mistake and hopefully won’t happen again.

O’Holleran was referring to this matter.

So, I sent an email back to him, asking if he wanted me to publish his comments above and a couple of other questions. They were: What is your position with the Jones campaign? And, since it doesn’t appear to be a blog, in the usual sense, why is Jones’ campaign web site listed at RVABlogs, in the first place?

He sent this message back to me:

I am the campaign manager.

If you don’t mind putting an update attributed to the campaign saying we contacted you with an explanation we would appreciate it. We just don’t want to give the impression we were trying to do something nefarious….that’s pretty much the opposite of how we operate.

As for RVABlogs, I just sent them an email inquiring about it. To be honest, I wasn’t sure whether or not we were added because I hadn’t seen any of our posts show up on there. We’re doing our best to reach out to folks through all avenues possible.

Note: O’Holleran’s emails to me have been published with his permission.
