“Why Don’t You Play in Hell” comes to Carytown for one showing only.
Acclaimed Japanese director Sion Sono’s Why Don’t You Play In Hell? will screen at the Byrd Theatre next month, it was announced Monday.
The screening will take place Saturday, February 21st at 1:30 PM.
The film is one of the latest releases of Austin-based distribution company Drafthouse Films, adding to a quickly growing catalog of films. Also premiering is the short film Black Eyes, written and directed by Rick Spears.
Tickets for the movie are $5 and can be purchased in advance online. An after-party will follow at Portrait House, with happy hour prices for ticket stub holders from 4:00-7:00 PM.
Richmond-based artist James Callahan was commissioned to design the poster for the film’s western release, and will be signing copies after the show.
