The Boulevard Bridge is designed similarly to the one that collapsed in Minnesota and will receive an unscheduled once-over by state highway engineers.

The structure is called a “deck truss bridge,” and bridges of this type are being inspected across the country. Eleven other Virginia bridges will be inspected as well.
