Preservation enthusiasts and Petersburg devotees can now show their support of their city and local preservation efforts by hanging the newly designed Historic Petersburg Foundation (HPF) 2009 calendar on their home or office wall.

Each calendar features pen-and-ink drawings by renowned local artist Beverly Hawkins of historic properties located within the city.

HPF printed the calendars to help raise awareness of their 41-year-history of leading the preservation and restoration efforts of Petersburg’s historic architecture and neighborhoods and of telling their story.

“The calendars are not only attractive, useful and help support a worthwhile cause within our city, but they make great gifts, too,” said Larry Tucker, HPF president.

Each black-and-white calendar is $10. They are available at Purple Passion, Brickhouse Run, Penniston’s Alley, Rivers Edge, At the Globe, Java Mio, Gardener’s Gate and HPF, all located in Old Towne Petersburg.

For more information about HPF or purchasing a calendar, call HPF at (804) 732-2096 or visit their headquarters at 420 Grove Avenue, Petersburg, VA 23804. Payment can be made at each location by cash, check or credit card.
