Henrico schools show notable improvement on SOL scores, following statewide trend
Results for the 2014-2015 school year were released this week.
Henrico County public school students improved their performances on the state’s Standards of Learning tests during the 2014-15 school year but still fell slightly below the statewide pass-rate averages in three of five core subject areas, according to statistics released today by the Virginia Department of Education.
Henrico students exceeded the state pass-rate averages in history/social sciences and science but fell slightly below the state averages in reading, writing and mathematics.
Of the 29 tests taken by Henrico County students in grades 3-8 and high school in reading, writing, history and social studies, math and science, the percentage of students who earned passing scores increased on 17 tests from the 2013-14 school year. The pass rate remained the same on five other tests and decreased on seven tests.
