Henrico Police investigate fatal Parham Road crash

86-year-old Henrico woman died from injuries sustained in collision.

Henrico Police continue to investigate a fatal accident that occurred Thursday evening at the intersection of Parham and Midway Roads, just south of Patterson Avenue.

Authorities say an 86-year-old Henrico woman, identified as Beverly Luther of Roslyn Hills Drive, was driving northbound on Parham Road around 7:45 PM when her Volvo crossed the median. Luther’s vehicle struck a Mercury traveling southbound head on.

Luther died from injuries sustained from the collision; the southbound driver suffered life-threatening injuries.

Henrico Police spokeswoman Lt. Linda Toney tells WTVR-TV that neither alcohol nor speed appeared to be factors in the crash, adding that no charges have been filed.

Southbound traffic on Parham Road was rerouted to Midway Road during the accident investigation and cleanup, causing major backups, as pictured above.
