20151221_carter_dawn_margaret_48Officers responded to the restaurant around 8:30 PM for reports of a vehicle crash. Witnesses on scene say the sedan crashed through the front windows of the Chipotle, became wedged between two doors, and then backed out, causing further damage to the restaurant’s exterior.

“The vehicle immediately fled the scene, however a nearby witness followed the vehicle and was able to alert HCPD Officers,” Henrico Police Tactical/Strategic Intelligence Sergeant C. L. Rooney confirmed to RVANews via email.

After stopping the vehicle and conducting an investigation, Dawn Margaret Carter, 48, was arrested and charged with DUI and felony hit and run.

Katlyn Farmer, who was eating at the restaurant when the crash occurred, captured the scary moments on her smartphone. Video can be seen below.

Remarkably, there were no injuries.
