In today’s P-I:
Test scores jump: Secondary schools show improvement in nearly all subjects
In today’s RTD:
Petersburg to seek school help – Bids will go out for firms to work with up to three schools to boost scores

Both articles overlap in saying that preliminary SOL test scores at Peabody and Vernon Johns middle schools suggest improvement over 2007. The articles diverge in that the RTD focuses mostly on what steps the school system will be taking in the event annual yearly progress is not met, whereas the P-I, which has communicated these details previously, focuses in this case on the evidence of progress.

The different content communicated by these papers is certainly worth sharing, and that these stories do not overlap greatly provides one more information than otherwise. But somehow, ‘my goodness’ comes to mind at the side by side comparison.
