Grants available to show you Love Your Block
Grants worth $500 dollars to improve your neighborhood.
If you’ve got an idea that will help out your neighborhood but you’re just lacking the funds the City’s Neighbor-to-Neighbor (N2N) Initiative might be the answer. Back in January of 2011, N2N was given $10,000 from Cities of Service and the Home Depot Foundation in the form of Home Depot gift cards.
In January 2012, N2N was awarded a $10,000 grant from Cities of Service, in partnership with the Home Depot Foundation, in the form of Home Depot gift cards toward the implementation of a Love Your Block Program.
The Love Your Block grant gives out $500 Home Depot Gift Card to neighborhood groups for local beautification projects. The grants are specifically looking for the following projects.
- Improve resident perception of safety, with improved lighting, landscaping etc.
- Reduce crime incidents and other gang/drug related vandalism with graffiti removal, and community garden initiatives.
- Reduce trash through street cleanups/increase recycling.
For more N2N Love Your Block grant information or to download the grant application. The application deadline for this round is Friday, March 7th.
