Glows in the Dark is taking on Commercial Taphouse tonight as part of the bar’s Sunday night music tradition. The group, led by Patchwork Collective co-founder and Richmond guitarist/composer Scott Burton, is debuting a full work dedicated to the late actor Warren Oates in their first performance since the Rumors Boutique show with Little Women. Read more about Warren Oates’ influences on Burton’s compositions here .

Joining Burton is Jason Arce (sax) of various groups like Steve Carter Connextion and No BS Brass Band; Scott Clark (dr), drummer of the very active Richmond rock band Ilad; Reggie Pace (tbn) of Fight the Big Bull and co-founder of No BS Brass Band; and Cameron Ralston (bs), also of Ilad, Fight the Big Bull, and many other various projects.

Commercial Taphouse is located at 111 N. Robinson St. Be prepared for a tight squeeze and patrons who don’t mind talking over music. The Taphouse does, however, have to offer Richmond’s finest draught selections, as well as an up-close-and-personal front row seat if you’re lucky enough.

Free, all ages.

The show was excellent. Great solos, great interaction, fantastic compositions. I was getting a real positive vibe that seemed to fill the whole place. I’ve never felt that at Commercial Taphouse before.
