Richmond Public Schools are facing the same economic challenges as other organizations, but they’re asking Richmond residents for their input on how to manage the budget crisis. Interim Richmond City School Superintendent Dr. Yvonne Brandon will meet with the public at four coffee and tea gatherings on Monday, December 8. The Times-Dispatch has more:

“We are faced with a dire budget climate,” Brandon said. “Before we march out with a budget, I want to receive input from the community as to their priorities.”

Brandon will present a quick overview of the budget process and hit the highlights before opening the floor.

“Everything is on the table right now,” she said. “We don’t know how dismal it’s going to be. It’s going to be painful for everybody, and it’s going to be painful across the board.”

A session will be held in Northside at the Richmond Technical Center at 2020 Westwood Avenue at 5:00 p.m. in Room 201.
