Whether they signed up for archaeology or music, doll-making or robotic construction, Gifted and Talented students reaped a rich harvest in this year’s Gifted and Talented Summer Program, sponsored by the Petersburg City Public Schools.

The program, traditionally held at the Appomattox Regional Governor’s School, typically draws students not just from Petersburg but all over central Virginia. A week of learning activities wraps up with a presentation for parents and the community.

New technology provides new ideas: the classic drama program is now paired with Podcasting instruction.

And family members who attend the grand finale can’t always expect to be left in their seats. This year, they were drawn right into the dance routine.
