Anyone who has an interest in helping to keep Richmond’s parks beautiful and enjoys nature and working outside is invited to help the Friends of William Byrd Park prune and groom in the park on Saturday, March 29, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Volunteers should meet at the Roundhouse in the park, bring work gloves and if they have them, clippers or loppers, and come prepared to help add mulch to the young trees around the park’s Vita Course and Roundhouse. Wheelbarrows, tools, fun and friendship will be provided.
The Friends of William Byrd Park is a non-profit citizen-led group organized to help promote, improve and protect Byrd Park, as well as to encourage the public’s enjoyment and use of the park.
For more information about the prune and groom event or the organization, call 358-1797 or e-mail friendsofwmbyrdpark@gmail.com.
