Flying Squirrels hosting Richmond Braves throwback weekend at The Diamond
Special retro weekend pays homage to RVA’s former baseball team with throwback Braves jerseys, special giveaways and events, and a charity auction.
The Richmond Flying Squirrels will pay tribute to our city’s former baseball team–and the Atlanta Braves’ minor league team–the Richmond Braves, by hosting a Braves throwback weekend July 18th through the 20th.
Friday night’s game will kick off the retro festivities with a Chipper Jones Bobblehead giveaway. Saturday, the Squirrels host ‘Turn Back the Clock 80’s Night,’ which will conclude with a special fireworks show.
Sunday holds host to a Richmond Flying Squirrels/Richmond Braves baseball giveaway for Squirrels Kids Club members.
Players will even sport throwback Richmond Braves jerseys, which fans can bid on all weekend long. Proceeds will benefit the Atlanta Braves Foundation, the Major League Baseball team’s community outreach organization, which provides youth health and recreation grants to deserving non-profits throughout Atlanta.
Throwback Richmond Braves baseball caps will also be available for purchase in the Squirrels Nest, the Squirrels’ merchandise and apparel store on site at The Diamond.
