On Friday, Feb. 20, police responded to a report of an employee of the Coliseum being robbed and abducted outside the facility. The victim reported to police he was forced into a van and robbed by two people at 9:17 p.m. in the 600 block of East Leigh Street in front of the Coliseum. He said he was later able to escape.

Because of the nature of the incident and the location, it received a lot of initial media attention.

The investigation has determined that the incident did not occur. The individual who made the allegations lied to police about what happened.

The incident has now changed from a robbery to a false report investigation.
