Falling Creek Ironworks Archaeology Tour Is March 21
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Learn about the origins of America’s first iron-production facility during the Falling Creek Ironworks Archaeology Tour Saturday, March 21, noon-4 p.m., at Falling Creek Ironworks Park, 6407 Jefferson Davis Highway. Tour guides will lead visitors through the archaeological remnants of the ironworks that occupied the site from 1619 until 1622, as well as the gristmill that was there in later years. The afternoon also will include historical presentations and exhibits of blacksmithing and apothecary, children’s games, militia drills, and performances by Virginia Indians.
