Established sushi concept opening location in the Devil’s Triangle

Akida will join the recently relocated Buddy’s and several other bars and restaurants this March.

A well-known sushi restaurant brand is rolling into the Devil’s Triangle. Kevin Mak, owner of Akida in The Fan and Carytown Sushi in Carytown, is opening a third restaurant at 606 North Shepard Street next month.

According to Richmond BizSense, Mak will rebrand Akida as Akasaka, and the new restaurant will take the former name.

Mak says the new Akida’s menu will be familiar to patrons of his first two restaurants.

Akida adds to the Devil’s Triangle’s food options, joining the recently relocated Buddy’s Place, as well as Caliente, Bandito’s Burrito Lounge, and Arianna’s Grill, to name a few.
