Developer plans to build hundreds of new apartments at Libbie Mill

Gumenick Properties will break ground on the new units off Staples Mill Road late this year or in early 2016.

From the Richmond Times-Dispatch:

Developers hope to start construction this year or early next year on nearly a third of about 1,100 apartments planned for Libbie Mill-Midtown.

Gumenick Properties said Monday that it has applied for building permits for a five-story building with more than 320 apartments near the mixed-use development’s entrance on Staples Mill Road in western Henrico County.

Company officials declined to disclose planned rental rates for the apartments or give an estimated cost for this phase of the 80-acre project.

In all, approximately 1,100 new apartment units are slated for the mixed use development off Staples Mill Road.
