The Richmond Smiles Dental Program, in partnership with the City Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities, is celebrating National Children’s Dental Health Month (February) by sponsoring a Dental Health Fair at Hotchkiss Community Center, 701 E. Brookland Park Blvd. on Tuesday, February 17, from 11AM. to 1PM.

The Health Fair is open to the public and features the Richmond Smiles 40-foot dental clinic-on-wheels with free dental screening, free dental hygiene information, refreshments, plus music and entertainment with radio stations Power 92 and Praise 104.7 FM.

In addition to acknowledging National Dental Health Month, the Richmond Smiles Program also is celebrating nearly a year of traveling around the city, making monthly and weekly visits to designated service locations to provide Richmond residents that do not have dental insurance with quality dental care right in their own neighborhoods.

The Richmond Smiles Program is conducted collaboratively by the Richmond City Health District, Capital Area Health Network, and the Virginia Department of Health to make low-cost dental care available to uninsured Richmond adults and youth.

In addition to the Hotchkiss Community Center location, the Richmond Smiles Dental Van provides dental services at the Public Health Department Tenth Street Clinic, St. Paul’s Church-South, and Ramsey Memorial Church. Information about the Richmond Smiles Dental Program is available by calling 253-1972 and by visiting the Richmond City Health District homepage at www.Richmondgov.com, and the Capital Area Health Network website at www.cahealthnet.org.
